Please describe the problem you’ve encountered in detail:

  • Description: I want to use the linux terminal but it says linux is not supported in your device as I have installed in vmware

:computer:System & Device Information

  • Hardware & System Configuration:

    • Processor: i7 13 Gen
    • Graphics Card(Please specify if there’s a discrete graphics card): NVIDIA RTX 4050 6GB
    • RAM: 16 GB
    • FydeOS Version: 19

  • Relevant System Logs:

    • Open the Chromium browser and enter /var/log/messages to retrieve logs.
    • Log Details:
      Linux Environment is not supported in your device.

Due to the limitation and constraints of virtualisation technology, FydeOS for VMware has the following known issues:

  • No support for Linux subsystem
  • Very limited support for Android apps with NDK (most Android games)
  • No support for video playback under the Android subsystem
  • No support for OTA update
  • No support for sharing files via VMware client between host and VM

FydeOS for VMware is a “Preview”, it is only intended to provide a quick demonstration of what is FydeOS and give you a first impression of using FydeOS. If you want a full experience of FydeOS, please use FydeOS for PC/SBC/You.

Thanks , Can I use it in 32 gb pendrive live boot and will my apps be saved there because I need this but also dont want a dual boot in my new pc . TIA

Hello , I tried to boot via usb but its not showing any wifi in my pc and I have to use usb tethering for that and when I tried to download gapps via store then it said me to disable some rootfilesystem and after I did it and reboot the device , it stopped booting , enter in the terminal mode while booting through usb , enter in the grub mode. Please Help

download v18.1 then try this guide

*re-install v18.1 because the guide doesn’t support v19 property

Thanks for providing the link.
First I downloaded and made the bootable pendrive using rufus for it from the link you gave but it didn’t even boot and then I saw its written 3 - 7 gen and I have 13 gen i7 so I again searched through the Historical Releases of FydeOS for PC for the 18.1 version for my processor and got 8 - 12 but not 13 so I tried it and it eventually worked 50 % but still Similiar problems in 18.1 and 19 versions. They are-

  1. In 19, No nearby wifi is showing but in 18.1 , wifi name are showing but are not connecting to it, eventually I have to usb tethering as ethernet.
  2. In 19, After installing linux , it failed to boot but in 18.1 after installing linux , its booting but failed to open terminal as saying this type of error.
    Launching vmshell failed: Error starting crostini for terminal: 74 (START_LXD_FAILED_SIGNAL)

Is there any other solution, I might tried for Fyde OS or should I give up from Fyde OS, please help. Thanks in Advance.

You have a discrete graphics card. If you can’t disable it, give up fydeos.

how come a graphics card causes error for an operating system. Anyways ok

Because fydeos does not support Nvidia graphics card and actually Nvidia always causes problem in Linux.

Ohh if thats the issue then I am done with Fyde. Thank you for helping and clearing my issues. Any other alternative you want to suggest me instead of Fyde OS that supports NVIDIA Graphics card as well. TIA
