Fydeos on AMD Zen 4 or Zen 5

Please describe the problem you’ve encountered in detail:

  • booting from USB fydeos installer v18.1 also v19 hangs on black screen only to eventually restart and repeat.
  • Same behavior when trying to install chromeos flex v129
  • System installs windows 11 and latest ubuntu no problem from USB

:computer:System & Device Information

  • Hardware & System Configuration:
    • Processor: AMD 8600g Zen 4 (also tried 9700x Zen 5)
    • Graphics Card (Please specify if there’s a discrete graphics card): iGPU
    • RAM: 96GB DDR5 5600 Crucial 1.1v , also tried 64GB DDR5
    • FydeOS Version:v18.1 also v19
    • motherboard/barebones Asrock X600 deskmini with 4.03 bios AGESA 1.2.0.0 (Secure boot disabled)

(also tried Asrock X600 deskmeet)

  • SSD Samsung 990 Pro 2TB

  • Relevant System Logs:

    • Open the Chromium browser and enter /var/log/messages to retrieve logs.
    • Log Details: can’t even get any gui on the screen during install.


maybe u need to wait
if it doesn’t work in v18,then it`ll dont work in v19
maybe u need to ask google

The problem is the outdated kernel, Zen4/5 and Radeon 7000 GPUs are not supported in 5.15.

Because fydeos is mainly for old devices not latest devices.

is there an official CPU list for fydeos?
