Please describe the problem you’ve encountered in detail:

  • Description:
After installation of Linux addon, if a terminal is opened and “sudo apt update” then “sudo apt dist-upgrade” is run, upon reboot, back in the terminal running apt, ls, etc. will be returned with the error “command not found”. After a wipe and re-install, same thing. After a powerwash, same thing, after another powerwash and no updates simply installed GIMP & LibreOffice, same thing in a terminal. LibreOffice & GIMP open via menu, Linux apps but not via terminal. The $PATH command returns:
    chronos@amd64-fydeos_iris / $ $PATH
bash: /usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/opt/bin: No such file or directory

Is this a very unusual problem?

Attach a picture would be better. I don’t understand your problem.

Here you are. HTH…

Here is the current menu – Linux items run ok from here.

You should do it in the Linux subsystem not the system shell.

Sorry, the only instructions I have seen, including FydeOS docs, is to access the Linux shell via Ctrl-Alt-T withing Chrome, then to enter “shell”. Is there another (correct) way?

Linux has its terminal. It’s in the app list as well.

Thank you hacker, I see that now. What I didn’t see was that I had the second step of “penquin”.
Thank you again!

Is there a way to mark this post as ‘Solved’?
