Surface Go 2 Compatibility - Using "linux-surface" kernel

Please describe the problem you’ve encountered in detail:

  • Description: I have fyde for you for surface go 2 installed. Everything works except for camera which worked initially then stopped my question is if I install the Linux environment and download the “linux-surface” kernel and install it will that resolve the issue?

  • Hardware & System Configuration: Surface go 2

    • Processor: M3 8100y
    • Graphics Card(Please specify if there’s a discrete graphics card): M3
    • RAM: 8GB
    • FydeOS Version: Fyde for you latest Surface Go 2 version.
  • Relevant System Logs:

    • Open the Chromium browser and enter /var/log/messages to retrieve logs.

You can’t install kernel. It is much more complicated than that. I suggest you give up the camera otherwise just stick with windows.

I see… so the question becomes why should I bother with the £15 a year subscription if the camera has stopped working, and when it does the quality is extremely poor compared to Windows, I mean I could live with the poor qaulity camera as I only need it for the odd picture when I am doing assessments with clients, but not having one is a definately no for me.

Actually the performance is way better than windows for me and I don’t use camera. So I paid. Everyone has different demand.
