Please describe the problem you’ve encountered in detail:

  • Description: I am completely unable to create a bootable USB drive for FydeOS.
I have tried using both Rufus and Balena Etcher (yes, I downgraded it to 18.1.11) and failed to make a working drive. I’ve tried both the generic PC (modern intel) IMG file and the “You” IMG file for my Surface Pro 7. I’ve made sure to extract the file and everything. I truly don’t know what I missed. I’ve booted other Linux distros before with this USB drive.
Any tips or help is appreciated, thank you.

For surface devices, use the for you version. If you are using windows, run rufus as admin would be the best option. Make sure the flash is successful. Then disable secure boot and boot from usb.

It worked! Thank you!!!
