FydeOS for PC image bootloops on Surface Go 2

  • Has been mentioned on the Discord server by a couple people, not here though.

Please describe the problem you’ve encountered in detail:

  • Description: Have been trying to boot the FydeOS for PC v20 Images (both the slim and normal Intel ones) on my Surface Go 2 but the imaged usb just bootloops my Surface when it boots off the drive. It tries to boot since it shows the Secure Boot off banner but fails and loops as long as the USB is plugged in. Tried FydeOS for PC v19 and the SGO2 specific releases of both v19 and v20 and all of them boot fine. Would use the Hardware specific images but i don’t have a way to pay the subscription because of my payment method not being supported.

  • Hardware & System Configuration:

    • Processor: Intel Pentium Gold 4425Y
    • Graphics Card(Please specify if there’s a discrete graphics card): iGPU
    • RAM: 8 GB
    • FydeOS Version: 20

  • Relevant System Logs:

    • Open the Chromium browser and enter /var/log/messages to retrieve logs.
    • Log Details: Boot related so no logs…
