You are responsible for your use of FydeOS, THE DEV TEAM IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DATA LOSS
If you want to try FydeOS, you can go to our documentation.

There are also many YouTube videos to help you throughout the process.

And here’s more description, to help you.

Please follow the following steps, [DO THIS ON THE SYSTEM YOU WANT TO TEST]
I assume you’re using Windows,

  1. Download CPU-Z, and take a screenshot of the app when it shows your cpu info,
  2. Upload it to ChatGPT, it’ll tell you which variant of FydeOS to pick
  3. Download the .img file from https://www.fydeos.io/
  4. Flash it on a spare usb drive using Rufus from https://rufus.ie/ [ALL DATA ON USB DRIVE WILL BE ERASED]
  5. Now, shutdown and press the “boot keys” on your system. It can be F10, F2, ESC, etc… You’ll have to figure that out yourself using Google or ChatGPT.
  6. Using the arrow keys to navigate, you’ll have to select your usb drive in the boot menu and hit enter
  7. Your system will now boot into FydeOS.
  8. Select your Language and Keyboard Layout
  9. Connect to a Network
  10. Follow the on screen instructions.
  11. When you get to the Installation section, select “Try it First” or something similar to that. [DON’T CLICK CONVERT TO FYDEOS DEVICE]
  12. Set up a local account in the bottom left corner of your screen.
  13. Follow the on screen instructions and you’ll be able to use FydeOS before doing anything to the system’s data. You can also test Android and Linux.

Hi i have done it with rufus and with balena etcher.
i press 12 on my dell notebook. select the usb stick. then it is booting with windows and not with the fydeos on my usb.

Disable fast boot and secure boot in bios.

Try these in your BIOS
SECURE BOOT ------> DISABLED
CSM ------> DISABLED
FAST BOOT ------> DISABLED
USB BOOT ------> ENABLED

FydeOS should boot now after doing this, If it doesn’t post a video of what’s happening and show your BIOS settings.

ChatGPT can help with pressing certain keys on keyboard for bios
