  • Description: Hi everyone,

I’m trying to install FydeOS onto the internal SSD of my 2006 Mac Pro (Model 1,1). I’m currently able to boot and use FydeOS from a USB drive (Try Mode works well), but every time I attempt to install to the SSD, the system doesn’t boot afterward. I suspect this is a bootloader issue related to Legacy BIOS compatibility.

Questions:

  1. Are there any older versions of FydeOS (v11–v19) that fully support Legacy BIOS booting?
  2. Can I manually configure the SSD after install to use a Legacy-compatible bootloader (GRUB or similar)?
  3. Should I reformat the SSD using MBR instead of GPT prior to install?
  4. Is there a recommended workaround or image that works best for older Macs like mine?

Would love guidance or links to historical versions of FydeOS that are confirmed working in BIOS mode.

Thanks in advance!

Even you can install, only browser is available.

Okay thanks, I just tried booting again and FydeOS 19 is now working flawlessly off of my Mac Pro 1 2006. Not sure how I got it to work, but we’re back in business now!
