Should I switch to Intel Modern?

Please describe the problem you’ve encountered in detail:

  • Description:

I am running Fyde OS For You 20 on a Surface Go3 Intel Core i3 - this is the version of the Surface Go 3 that Fyde OS For You is not optimised for. I saw in the release notes to Fyde OS 21 that this will continue to be the case. It still works pretty well but I cannot activate the Android sub-system, which is one of main reason I switched to Fyde OS from Windows. My question is: If I installed the Intel Modern version, would I simply encounter a different set of issues? Is it better to stick with what I have since I can run Chromium and Linux okay?

Surface devices are truly unique, which is why we optimise for them. You may try the Intel Modern variant, but the answer to your question is likely ‘yes’.

In which case, can I suggest that the For You page for Surface Go 3 states clearly that the version does not support Intel Core i3 devices?
