I am a certified distro hopper. Since the inception of Windows 10 and the troubles with updates and so on - I’ve been distro hopping. I’ve been familiar with FydeOS since FlyntOS. The troubles with Windows 10 is what lead me to looking for alternative computing options. I tried Apple but I don’t like to be boxed in so that didn’t cut it. My first venture out of Windows came by way of Ubuntu as well as Remix OS. I knew nothing of neither OS’ but decided what the hell, it’s better than relying on Microsoft and their horrible security and invasive privacy terms of services.
I absolutely LOVED RemixOS but the end of support upset me and so I stuck with Ubuntu and tried many of their offerings from certified Flavors and for a while I used Ubuntu Remix - a, now unsupported, alternative to ChromeOS. Nothing satisfied my all around need for being able to use multiple systems without having to dual boot or run a VM .
Then came FYDEOS. HA!!! Love it. Don’t get me wrong. I’ve had some gripes with it. Especially when I could not get into Dev mode to be able to run Android apps properly. I’ve happy to see that they’ve updated to make it easier and support more hardware and now it runs like a leaky faucet.
With Microsoft no longer supporting their own software releases and Linux becoming mainstream this is the perfect time for FYDEOS to become a household name in Opertating Systems. You can do it all from one interface. No need for run a slow VM, no need for dual boots. Not to mention that Microsoft windows 11 makes it almost impossible to dual boot anything properly these days. Being able to run Linux, Android, and Windows apps with ease, without having to do insane - this won’t work unless you’re a dev ops - configurations, is a joy.
I’m surprised… Actually no. I am not surprised that more of the online tech blog are not pushing people towards using FydeOS to fulfill their everyday computing needs. I know how this works and the powers that be will keep the wonderful work of the FYDEOS team as quiet as possible for as long as possible because it would put too many out of business. Ubuntu used to be, for me, what FydeOS is now - the best operating system. It just works.
Keep up the good work. I will be featuring the wonders of FydeOS in my upcoming blog so more people could go back to simply using a computer instead of having to learn how to fix their computers. Ubuntu was great until their weird Microsoft partnerships through Canonical. FydeOS and OpenFYDE are the way to go. Nowhere else can you easily run 3 operating systems without much technical knowledge within a stable environment. Good Job!
