Please describe the problem you’ve encountered in detail:

  • Description: Hi Everyone,
I am having issues with video playback on all apps I download from the app Store. My main 2 apps are Plex and prime. On plex the video refuses to go past 0:00. On prime it refuses to open up any videos. I have disabled hardware acceleration and decoding in chrome. I have also enabled widevine. Neither fix has worked and I’m looking for some guidance. Thank you in advance

Have you tried the web versions of the video apps you’re using, or are you using the Android versions?
If you are using the Android version, you can try the web version.

Websites work fine for both. Its just the apps from the playstore that refuse to work. For some reason playback on the appstore is not working. almost as if I dont have a GPU on any kind

It sounds like this isn’t a Chrome/web playback issue—since the websites work, but the Play Store apps don’t, the problem is likely inside the Android subsystem (video decode/GPU acceleration), and for Prime Video specifically the Android app may also be blocked by DRM/Widevine requirements even when the browser version plays fine. In that case the most reliable workaround is to keep using the web versions for streaming apps.
