Please describe the problem you’ve encountered in detail:

  • Description:
When I try to boot FydeOS from a USB drive, it gets stuck at the message:

“Booting FydeOS verified image A”

After this, the screen turns completely black and nothing happens.
I never see the FydeOS logo even once.

I have already tried multiple methods, including:

  • Disabled Secure Boot
  • Disabled Fast Boot (both in Windows and BIOS)
  • Set USB as first boot priority
  • Tried both Rufus and balenaEtcher for creating bootable USB
  • Used a SanDisk USB 3.2 drive
  • Tried different USB ports

Still facing the same issue every time.

:computer:System & Device Information

  • Hardware & System Configuration:
    • Processor: Intel Core i3-6006U (6th Gen Skylake)
    • Graphics Card(Please specify if there’s a discrete graphics card): Intel HD Graphics 520 (integrated) + AMD Radeon R5 M330 (discrete)
    • RAM: 8 GB
    • FydeOS Version: FydeOS for PC (Modern Intel build)

  • Relevant System Logs:
    • Open the Chromium browser and enter /var/log/messages to retrieve logs.
    • Log Details: Not available (unable to boot into FydeOS)

It might be related to the discrete GPU. If possible, try removing the discrete GPU and see if that resolves the issue.

If that doesn’t work, you can try disabling the discrete GPU, although this may not always be effective.

Are you using one of the very old images? If so, try upgrading to an newer image. Don’t worry, if you want the old look and feel, go for FydeOS v17 or v18. If you want a newer look, try out v22 (Our latest FydeOS Image).
