I wanted to share a project I’ve been working on: fyde-nix, a NixOS port for the FydeTab Duo. We currently have around 70% overall parity with stock FydeOS, including 88% for hardware - only fingerprint does not work (yet) - and 50% on the software side.
We just released v0.1.0-rc.3 with support for the NPU, LTE Module, and a bunch of other bug fixes - so if you ever wanted to try NixOS on the FydeTab Duo there hasn’t been a better time! The whole GPU stack, Wayland compositors, etc., work perfectly, and we have similar features to stock FydeOS such as an on-screen keyboard that can automatically show when in a text input box when the physical keyboard is unplugged, with support for different rotations.
